Star pattern ralli quilt
Handmade by women in the villages of the Thar desert, we have available one rare mid-century ralli quilt in excellent condition.
Made entirely by hand using appliqué, patchwork and embroidery, the vivid colours of ralli have been blooming in South Asian deserts since the beginning of time. They often feature ancient motifs dating back to the Bronze Age Indus Valley Civilization, sometimes incorporating them with strikingly modern influences, as is this case with these gloriously retro stars.
The back is made up of panels of upcycled fabric, as is often the case with artisan-made folk art: sustainable by its very nature.
This statement piece can be used as a single or (as shown) double bed quilt in summer, a bedspread in winter, a throw at any time, or mounted as a wall hanging, to refresh, transform, or create a new focal point for your space.
