Heirloom handspun and handwoven cream cotton throw
From our heirloom cotton collection, a seed brought out of extinction, grown, picked, spun and loomed on the grounds of three hundred-year-old haveli in the heart of the Punjab, we have available three elegant fringed cream "khes" with varying design features.
Khes are multipurpose throws woven from coarse cotton that have been used as bedding and shawls in rural Punjab for hundreds of years. Stylish and infinitely adaptable, these handloomed beauties are divine draped over a chair or a sofa, a table or a bed for some rustic charm. They are also splendid wrapped around one on an early autumn evening or as a light blanket should one wish to curl up with a book.
The throws are machine washable; the colours come from natural variations in the cotton seed itself, they feature no added dye.
Some of these will bear minor imperfections such as the odd pulled thread as is the case with products made entirely by human hand using only traditional, sustainable, ethical techniques.
Each of these khes have different approximate dimensions, as follows:
• Cream with fine brown stripes and dots: 200cm x 125cm
• Cream with broad brown stripes: 240cm x 130cm
• Cream with fine cream stripes and dots: 200cm x 116cm
