Antique Sindh hand-embroidered textile with gold coin fringing
A remarkable and rare antique Sindh hand-embroidered textile from the Swat valley featuring exquisite abstract Sindh floral embroidery in silk floss in cerise, fuschia and marigold with purple and yellow outlining. The base fabric is hand-spun, hand-woven cotton khaddar. It has a gorgeous border sewn with tiny gold coins.
Made in West Punjab, probably pre-Partition, it is a work of art that can be hung on a wall, backed to make a cushion or placed under a glass-topped table.
As an antique, it has irregularities, but it is in beautiful condition and a rare piece. Sold as seen.
